ON SHINGLE BEACH by Robert Meadows

GAME KEEPER TURNS POACHER!

In his role as adjudicator for Cheshire Theatre Guild, Robert Meadows has written about many Chester Little Theatre productions.  He is now changing horses (forgive the second metaphor) and has written a one act play which he is about to direct for performance in the Salisbury Studio on 11, 12 and 13 April.

The shingle beach of the title is situated on the South Coast of England where, at one time, smuggling took place.  Nowadays it is a place where desperate people in small boats try to land and start a new life.  As well as incorporating the historical events of the place, Robert's play covers other themes:  family relationships, racial acceptance, the difficulties of ageing and losing touch with reality.  It should be a very interesting exploration!
